THOMAS FRANKLIN WINSCOT 1941 – 2025 Thomas “Tom” Franklin Winscot, age 83 of Plattsmouth, NE peacefully passed surrounded by family on Monday, April 14, 2025 at the Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, NE. Tom was born on December 15, 1941, to George Oliver Winscot and Frances Elizabeth (Griffin) Winscot in Plattsmouth, NE. He was raised and schooled in Plattsmouth and he graduated from Plattsmouth High School with the class of 1959. After graduating from high school, he attended Dana College in Blair, NE. Tom met the love of his life, Carole Jeanne Pfeifer in high school. They were married on November 17, 1962 at St. John’s Church in Plattsmouth. Tom and Carole lived in Omaha for two years, then moved to Plattsmouth, NE where they made their home and raised their children. Tom worked as a service man for the local gas company. Tom was a man of many talents, a true character. He excelled at sports, including football, basketball, track, baseball, softball and enjoyed playing golf for over 40 years. He has had four ‘hole-in-ones’ in his lifetime, the most recent being this past year at the age of 82. He enjoyed watching his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren participate in their sports and academic careers. He would travel three to four hours just to watch them run (20 secs) or swim (less than a minute). He loved and was very proud of them. We remember him for the way he lived his life every day. He was humble, kind, loving, witty and a caring friend to all. He was a member of the Church of the Holy Spirit in Plattsmouth. Tom is survived by his wife: Dr. Carole Winscot of Plattsmouth, NE; his six children: Mark Winscot of Papillion, NE, Shelley (Mike) Cadotte of Plattsmouth, NE, Staci (Roderick) Winscot-Smith of Navarra, FL, Christopher (Angela) Winscot of Plattsmouth, NE, Keeli (Mike) Alexen of Plattsmouth, NE, and Heaven Winscot of Plattsmouth, NE; twenty grandchildren: Jennifer (Justin) Vaughan, Christy Winscot, Lauren (Broc) Streck, Olivia Winscot, Nicole (Gerald) Durham, Garrett Cadotte, Lukas (Leandra) Hulett, Logan Hulett, Jasmine Smith, Taylor (Blake) Balfour, Blake (Zack) Schneider, Jase Conn, Kylie (Baron) Martin, Heaven Winscot, Kevin Winscot, Clyde Hinton, Caden Hinton, Keelyn (Kole) Gray, Kyla Alexen, and Maddax Alexen; fourteen great grandchildren: Ellie Streck, Evan Durham, Presley Durham, Zoey Durham, Leia Hulett, Lenix Hulett, Lera Hulett, Jaxon Balfour, Hayes Balfour, Avery Eilers, Juliette Eilers, Alyvia Tuttle, Jaxson Tuttle, and Carson Martin; his sister: Ann Marilyn Gardner of Plattsmouth, NE; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents: George and Frances Winscot, parents-in-law: Ambrose and Virginia Pfeifer, his brothers-in-law: Larry Gardner and Tim Pfeifer, Cassie Cooper and many lifelong friends. Visitations will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. with a Rosary at 7:00 P.M., Sunday, April 20, 2025 at the Church of the Holy Spirit in Plattsmouth. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 A.M., on Monday, April 21, 2025 at the Church of the Holy Spirit with Father Sean Timmerman officiating, Tim Porter as acolyte, Troy Haecke and Kelly Todd as lectors, Heaven Winscot, Garrett Cadotte and Keelyn Gray as petitioners, Terry Little as vocalist, and Laurie Hajek-Jones organist. The Honorary Pallbearers will be Jennifer Vaughan, Christy Winscot, Lauren Streck, Olivia Winscot, Nicole Durham, Garrett Cadotte, Lukas Hulett, Logan Hulett, Jasmine Smith, Taylor Balfour, Blake Schneider, Jase Conn, Kylie Martin, Heaven Winscot, Kevin Winscot, Clyde Hinton, Caden Hinton, Keelyn Gray, Kyla Alexen, and Maddax Alexen. His Final Resting Place will be at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Plattsmouth. The family suggests memorials for Masses, St. John the Baptist School or Church of the Holy Spirit.
